(17.12.2008) With passion, professionalism, and great insight into the world of film, Erik Schøyen guided the participants of Globeracer’s Xanadu Workshop through a fascinating landscape.
One of the key point on the agenda was instructing the instructors on how to attain maximum effect by using Globeracer films.
Glaberacer’s Master Instructor Erik Schøyen has long experience with elite bicycle racing and training, and he knows the nuances of successful training. He emphasised the vital factors of using “pulse”, based on the Intensity Curve – this is a key graphic element that is always displayed at the bottom of the screen in films from Globeracer.
“It is essential to ‘train with the film’. What I mean by this is that the instructor must make everyone feel that they are truly riding as part of group you see in the film. This is what makes Globeracer Training so different, allowing instructors to actively use the film content as a motivational and coaching tool,” says Globeracer’s Master Instructor, Eric Schøyen.
“When we use our imagination to enhance the participants immersion in the film, to deeply experience and identify with what they are seeing on screen, the success of every training session is ensured. And that is how you are going to attract more customers to the training centre,” explains Erik Schøyen.
The Master Instructor also notes that each film has a carefully directed plot, in which the intensity is varied; the instructor’s job is to work consciously with this as the action unfolds and the sweat of the hard-working participants pours forth.
“At the conclusion of Globeracer’s Workshop the instructors from Xanadu, a training centre that is part of the Sprek og Blid chain, gave enthusiastic feedback. We are very pleased with the positive reception,” says Sales Manager Linn-Cathrin Almeland.
Xanadu will be offering Globeracer Films as an integral part of its bicycle training starting 1 January 2009.
“Globeracer looks forward to a fruitful cooperation with the Xanadu and the other member centres of Sprek og Blid, the leading chain of training centres in Western Norway.”
